Zip2

Zip2. Ever heard of it? If you have, you may well have been one of the early Internet (or Web) users, back around 1995 - 1999. Zip2 was a sort of "online city guide", founded by Elon Musk and his brother, Kimbal, in 1995. It was eventually sold to Compaq for US$307 million in cash and US $34 million in stock options in 1999. Mr. Musk earned 7% or $22 million from the sale. You may read more about Zip2 on Mr. Musk's Wikipedia page.
